The UK is ready to advance with using the total value of frozen Russian holdings to support Ukraine's defense operations, PM Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a collective announcement, the heads of state of the Britain, the French Republic, and Germany stated that this coordinated action would increase strain on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and urge the Russian Federation to come to the table.

They added that the move would be executed in strong partnership with the US.

British penalties have frozen in excess of £25bn of Russian funds since Moscow began its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. However, up to this point, funds allocated to Ukraine using Russian holdings had solely been taken from gains and dividends earned on them.

Sir Keir assured President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, the French Republic, and Germany were aligned in their aim to drive progress toward using the complete amount of the frozen Moscow's national holdings to conclude the conflict.

He stated that further sanctions over the next period would apply more pressure on the Russian government.

This announcement is subsequent to European Union representatives convened in the Danish capital last week to consider using frozen Russian holdings for a 140-billion-euro credit to Ukraine.

Last month, American leader Donald Trump urged G7 allies to take or employ immobilized Russian holdings, as reported by media sources.

The total of frozen Russia's holdings in the European Union is estimated to be approximately €211bn.

Moscow launched extensive missile and drone strikes all over Ukraine on that day, resulting in power cuts in many areas of Ukraine's capital, the city, and eight other regions.

Several persons were lost their lives and at least 20 people were hurt in the strike, Ukrainian officials said.

In a message on an online platform subsequent to the attack, Zelensky stated that the cynical and calculated attack aimed at non-military and power facilities.

Also on Friday, Zelensky informed the press he would encourage Sir Keir to join the PURL scheme, under which partner nations buy military equipment from the United States to donate to the Ukrainian forces.

While commending the UK's consistent assistance for the Ukrainian government, he said it should demonstrate clearly that it would participate in the system, as well as enforce additional restrictions on the Russian Federation.
