The Renowned Musician Encourages Public Help to Send Together for Palestine Song to UK Festive Top Spot.

A charity drive is aiming to propel a traditional song from Palestine to the Christmas number one spot. The project seeks to send support to people in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Chance for Unity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to stand with Palestinians during the holidays. He acknowledged the potential for an surprise number one.

“It would be incredible if that occurred, yes,” he said. “I’m not gonna be completely disappointed if it doesn't manage to, festive releases are a category of their own.”

Powerful Theme of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the adaptation of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's resilient spirit.

“It has a profound significance for many individuals,” Barghouti explained. “The message is that I would choose to perish with honor than exist without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we seek to lead a respectful existence that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Featured Artists

The track was produced after a large-scale benefit event held in the autumn. Initially planned to be captured during the live event, the rendition was shelved during the concert due to time constraints.

The notable list of artists appearing on Lullaby features a selection of prominent voices from the scene. All were part of the benefit event, which managed to collect a considerable total for humanitarian aid.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was brought to life by a team of producers and composers. The track showcases a mix of the traditional Arabic lyrics with freshly written English words.

The team running the project have emphasized that their goal is to raise as much as possible for a charitable pot. These proceeds will be allocated to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an non-profit partner.

“There is no a fixed goal,” a spokesperson said. “We will pursue the maximum achievable. Of course, the higher the total, the greater the impact. All proceeds are directed out to Gaza.”

The reality in the territory was characterized as its extreme devastation, with a vast majority of property described as destroyed or damaged.

“Given that reality, a couple of million doesn’t make that much difference. But I think the significant factor is primarily raising awareness for this issue and showing that another narrative exists.”

The song is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made available for streaming on a popular streaming site from the 19th of December.
