Paris Saint-Germain Edges Marseille on Penalties to Secure Trophee des Champions Super Cup in the Middle East.
The Parisian club has now claimed the season-opening trophy on 14 different occasions.
Paris Saint-Germain needed a dramatic equaliser followed by a perfect spot-kick decider to get past Marseille in the Gulf and capture a fourth straight Trophee des Champions victory.
The European champions seemed to be sailing towards a comfortable triumph in the showdown between the Ligue 1 champions and the Coupe de France holders after Ousmane Dembele opened the net early on.
Yet, the southern French side struck two times late to seize a shock lead. Initially, Mason Greenwood scored from the spot-kick, before Willian Pacho inadvertently directed the ball into his own net for an own goal.
In a breathtaking turn of events, the Portuguese striker snatched a vital equaliser in the dying seconds to send the contest into a deciding shootout. PSG goalkeeper Chevalier then emerged as the key figure, stopping crucial attempts from O'Riley and Hamed Traore.
From the spot, Ramos, the midfielder, Nuno Mendes, and the young talent all scored successfully for PSG to seal a convincing shootout victory.
Now 14-time winners PSG, who faced last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Olympique de Marseille after achieving a league and cup double, have now won this trophy for the 12th time in the past 13 seasons.
