American performer Finn, who was seen in beloved television series like "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles recently having undergone treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, as reported by media reports.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his family stated in a announcement.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
A Notable TV Career
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a regular part on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a host known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on several hit series, such as:
- The King of Queens
- "Friends"
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits are "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Away from his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a six-person improv troupe called "Beer Shark Mice".
"Pat guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils over the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he posted online.
Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
