These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.
Police arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Police were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.
The assault - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
